What PPC advertising in Mississauga really costs in 2026 (and where the money goes)

PPC advertising in Mississauga costs two things: the money you pay Google for clicks, and the fee you pay someone to manage those clicks. There is also a third cost most people never see on an invoice: clicks that were never going to become customers. That third number is usually the one worth fixing first.

This guide covers all three. It includes real 2026 cost-per-click figures for plumbers, dentists, medical clinics, immigration consultants, and law firms, explains why management fees go up as ad spend goes up, and shows how to check whether your budget is leaking.

The three numbers on every PPC bill

1. Ad spend
This is the money Google charges when someone clicks your ad. You set a daily budget and Google spends against it. It is the biggest number, and it is the one that buys you customers.
2. Management fee
This is what you pay a person or agency to build, run, and improve the campaigns. It should always be quoted separately from ad spend, so you can see exactly how much of your money reaches Google.
3. Wasted spend
These are clicks from the wrong searches, the wrong locations, or the wrong times of day. Nobody sends you an invoice for it, but you pay for it all the same. A well-managed account keeps this small. A neglected one can quietly lose a large share of the budget every month.
“

Most businesses compare agencies on number two. The bigger difference is usually in number three.

Google Ads cost per click by industry in 2026

Cost per click (CPC) is what you pay each time someone clicks your ad. It depends mostly on your industry, because you are bidding against every other business that wants the same customer. Here is what the 2026 data shows for the industries we get asked about most:

All prices are in Canadian dollars.
Industry Average cost per click Most expensive searches What drives the price
Plumbing $22.00 “emergency plumber” and “plumber near me” Urgent jobs. Someone with a burst pipe calls the first number they see.
Dental and medical clinics $4.82 Dental implant searches, up to $47.89 a click General appointments are cheap to advertise. One implant or orthodontic patient is worth thousands.
Immigration consultants $4.32 “LMIA recruitment”, up to $47.55 a click Employer and work permit searches cost far more than general visa questions.
Law firms $26.39 “DUI law firm”, up to $351.02 a click One case can be worth tens of thousands.
Where these numbers come from: we combined what we see in the Google Ads accounts we manage with a June 2026 study of more than 100,000 Canadian keywords across 19 industries, pulled from Google Keyword Planner (QliqQliq).
Your own numbers will differ by city, service, and how well the account is run. Google’s free Keyword Planner shows estimates for your exact services and area.
The more useful number is cost per lead. A $22 click that turns into a $3,000 plumbing job is a bargain. A $4 click from someone who wanted a free answer is not.

Why Mississauga clicks cost GTA prices

Mississauga is part of the Greater Toronto Area, and Google Ads auctions do not stop at city limits. A Mississauga dentist bidding on “dentist near me” is often competing with clinics in Etobicoke, Oakville, Brampton, and Toronto that target the same searcher. More bidders means higher prices.
That makes location targeting one of the most important settings in a Mississauga account. Google’s default location option targets people “in, or interested in” your area, not only people who are physically there. Unless someone changes it, Google will happily spend a Mississauga budget on people browsing from Thunder Bay. It is very generous with your money that way.
For a local service business, the fix is usually to target people who are actually in or regularly in your service area, then add exclusions for areas you don’t serve. Google explains the options in its location targeting help.

Why higher ad spend needs higher management fees

This is the question we get most often: “If the campaigns are already built, why does it cost more to manage $10,000 than $3,000?” The short answer is that a bigger budget is a bigger responsibility. Every extra dollar has to be steered toward the right clicks, and the cost of getting it wrong grows with the budget.
Here is what changes as spend goes up.
More searches to review
A bigger budget lets your ads show on more searches. That means hundreds or thousands more search terms every month, and each one needs a decision: keep it, block it as a negative keyword, or give it its own ad. This is where most wasted spend is caught, and it takes time.
More campaigns and more testing
Larger budgets are usually split by service, location, and match type so that each part can be measured and controlled. Each campaign needs its own ads, responsive search ad assets, extensions, and landing pages tested against each other. Twice the campaigns means roughly twice the testing.
Bidding becomes more sensitive
Automated bidding strategies like Target CPA (cost per acquisition) and Maximize Conversions learn from your conversion data. At higher spend, a small change to a target can move thousands of dollars in a week, and every major change restarts a learning period. Those changes have to be planned and watched, not set and forgotten.
Budget pacing needs watching
Google can spend up to twice your average daily budget on a busy day, as long as the monthly total stays within its limit (Google’s budget rules). On a small budget, a bad day is annoying. On a large one, it can burn through a week of spend before lunch.
Tracking has to be exact
More spend means bigger decisions are made on conversion data. Calls, forms, bookings, and offline sales all need to be tracked accurately, and fake or duplicate conversions removed, or the bidding system optimises toward the wrong thing.
More places the money can go
Larger accounts often run Performance Max, Display, YouTube, or remarketing alongside search. Each one has settings that can quietly send budget to low-quality placements or the search partner network if nobody checks.
The maths of mistakes
If 10% of a budget is wasted, that is $300 a month on $3,000 of ad spend. On $15,000 it is $1,500 a month. The same mistake costs five times as much, so it is worth five times the attention to prevent it.
That is why our management fee is tied to spend. It is not a percentage taken for the sake of it. It reflects how much work and care it takes to make every dollar count.

$3,000 /month
Ad spend covered at the starting fee
Our Google Ads management starts at $650 a month, which covers managing up to $3,000 a month in ad spend. Above $3,000, the management fee increases with the budget, for the reasons above. We quote it per account, based on how many campaigns, locations, and channels it needs.
Your ad spend and our management fee are always two separate numbers, so you can see exactly what goes to Google and what comes to us. If you’re still comparing agencies, our guide on how to choose a PPC agency in Mississauga covers the questions to ask before you sign anything.

Five checks to find wasted ad spend

You can run these in your own Google Ads account in about ten minutes.

1
Search terms report. Go to Campaigns > Insights and reports > Search terms. Look for searches for things you don’t sell, job seekers, “free”, “DIY”, or competitor names you never chose to target.
2
Locations report. Check where clicks are actually coming from. Clicks from well outside your service area are a sign the location setting is too broad.
3
Conversions. Make sure each conversion is a real lead, like a call over 60 seconds, a form submission, or a booking, and not a page view or a button click.
4
Networks. In campaign settings, check whether Search Partners and the Display Network are switched on for your search campaigns. Sometimes they help, often they don’t, and either way it should be a deliberate choice.
5
Time of day. Check when your leads come in. If nobody answers the phone at 2 a.m., paying for 2 a.m. clicks rarely makes sense.
If any of these turn up surprises, the August 2026 changes to Google Ads may also be affecting your account. Our post on what to do after the August 17 Google Ads update walks through it.

When PPC is not the right move yet

“
We would rather tell you this now than take your money.
If your total budget for ads and management is only a few hundred dollars a month, a $650 management fee does not make sense. Spend that money on a complete Google Business Profile and a website that loads fast and makes it easy to call you. Both keep working without a monthly click bill.
The same applies if your website is slow or confusing. Ads can bring people to the page, but they can’t make them stay. Fix the page first, then pay for traffic.

Frequently asked questions

Your bill has two parts: ad spend, which goes to Google, and a management fee. At ScalePros, management starts at $650/month and covers up to $3,000/month in ad spend. Your ad spend depends on your industry’s cost per click and how many leads you want.

A bigger budget matches more searches, so there are more search terms to review, more campaigns and ads to test, and more bids to manage. Mistakes also cost more: 10% waste on $3,000 is $300 a month, but on $15,000 it is $1,500. The work and the responsibility both grow with spend.

In 2026, plumbing averages about $22 a click in Ontario, with emergency and near me searches costing the most. Dental and medical clinics average $4.82 a click, but dental implant searches can reach $47.89. All figures are in Canadian dollars. Check Keyword Planner for your exact services and city.

Open the search terms report and the locations report in Google Ads. If you see searches for things you don’t sell, clicks from outside your service area, or conversions that aren’t real leads, part of your budget is being wasted. Those three checks take about ten minutes.

It usually is when a new customer is worth much more than your cost per lead, and when you can fund enough ad spend for Google to learn what works. If your total budget is only a few hundred dollars a month, start with your Google Business Profile and website before paying for ads.
